I'm not ashamed to admit that. It's pretty hard. That's so we can really measure who's taken the lessons of the game to heart. But if you're having trouble dishing out the pain, that's

re: Brawling for it All(ing): Causing ICE significant financial harm

I think the people whining about how hard this game is are used to being handed everything. Man up!! Yes it's difficult, but holy hell, it's also a blast to play. If you want easy go buy Viva Pinata or GTA IV.

The problem is that at a certain point (and its pretty early on) it suddenly crosses the line into the absurd and I’m not a guy who gets frustrated easily!

It’s almost like the programmers got lazy and just wrote animations that play on their own - ignoring anything you do. When it happens, you might as well just set the controler aside and watch because you already know what’s going to happen.

Like when I have Spin in a corner for the Asylum Belt, I’m beating the daylights out of him, his energy level is approaching nill, then some internal trigger event occurs – five seconds later I’m knocked down. What’s that all about?

Bottom line is that it’s NOT AT ALL like fighting someone who’s really good. It’s more like you’re a pro boxer, Don King is the promoter who has been well paid for you to lose. You can plan on going faster than a half pint of ale on a hot summer day.

Voodoo was very hard and Brick is impossible. I have gotten prety good with all the moves but like someone said there is no reaction time. All the belt-holders do is stun. Plus I have it on the Wii so after fighting for 2 hours my arms start to hurt and you have to start all over later.

I've noticed some reviews of this game that are, IMO, unfairly skewed to the negative. It does take some time to learn the ropes, but once you get the hang of it this is a satisfying and fun game. Stick with it.

I'm glad I just rented it. I LOVE boxing games, i bought Don Kings Prizefighter cause it was more sim. It was pretty bad. Collision was terrible. I'd punch and it would register a hit coming back, or not at all. but this game was worse. Even the first belt was tough for me on the easiest difficulty. And the second belt i could only knock down voodoo once in like 10 fights. If you can patch it, do it. Its so hard. I wonder how well snoop dog did.

You need to use charged punches and then bonebreaker right afterwards.

The game doesn't do the best job of showing you the right way to play, and you know what? That's our fault, and we really would have preferred if the learning curve was shorter or more intuitive for people.

I'm going to track down the video of me beating ICE using those steps, and then you can decide for yourself.

re: Brawling for it All(ing): Causing ICE significant financial harm

Wow! Great guide!

So to put this straight: First, you publish a game with a simply rediculous difficulty (even on the "easy" setting) that caters for lots of frustration within the first ten minutes of the game. I mean, the AI simply has NO reaction time AT ALL. For example, the CPU blocks. All the time. So to put your notorious "paper, scissors, stone"-principle in action, you would want to use a hard blow. However, as soon as the animations starts, you'll get jabbed by the CPU in no time. Then it gets back to blocking. Whohoo, lots of fun here!

Okay, so you guys read the reviews and forums and all. Slowly you will have noticed, that QA might not have worked here - the blog says ist all ("not ashamed to admit"/"pretty hard", the usual PR-BS).

But hey - making a patch to tweak the difficulty a little (as in: Make the game faintly playable) is quite expensive! So you come up with this blog and publish "hints" how to handle the game. Okay, nice idea this one, so let's see: Mhmm, Ice ist tricky (read: he has no reaction time and that is in a game, which works with three kinds of attacks pretty ...unbeatable). Okay, I need to do two things: 1. Deliberate attacks. Geeez! Never thought of that one! Thank you, Tmunro!! Well, it is kinda hard to be deliberate at this speed, but worth a try! Oh, and 2.:Follow the chared punches with "fancy breakers".

Okay, at that point I realized, you are kidding me. The AI has no reaction time (jabs as soon as I press triangle, blocks when I press circle or x)!!

Okay, in a nutshell: I love the EA Sports games, but this one is impertinent. I bought it today, played it for two hours (10 mins for the "arcade belt", the rest getting beaten by ICE), turned my Playstation off in frustration, finally found this blog with its "hints" and all you are telling me ist to hit harder. Frankly, this frustrates me even more.

I have just one simple request:

Cut the blog-c**p and release a patch as soon as possible, that makes this game playable and worthwile! Thanks.
